The Rāroa School Board met on Monday 1 August:

• The senior leadership team updated us on the tracking and management of Covid-19 cases in the school. We were interested to note that there is a wide distribution of cases across all classes, rather than concentrated groups of cases occurring in single classes. Health and safety management continues to be a priority.
• We reviewed a number of Student Wellbeing and Safety policies. No significant changes were made at this point. All policies can be accessed via the school website.
• We looked at the mid-year budget forecast and believe we are currently well positioned for the year. There are significant financial changes coming for all schools as the decile system is replaced, but we will not see that impact until next year.
• Board nominations have closed and we strongly encourage you to vote in the forthcoming election. The election process is being conducted by post. You should receive your voting papers soon.
• We acknowledged and thanked outgoing board members for their commitment and service to the school.
