Rāroa is looking forward to another successful fundraising programme for 2024. Fundraising is incredibly valuable to us and we highly appreciate the efforts of our families. Through fundraising endeavours we fund additional resources to support educational programmes, extracurricular activities, and school infrastructure improvements. Moreover, fundraising fosters a sense of community involvement and engagement in the school, strengthening relationships and creating a supportive network. Through fundraising, Rāroa can meet their specific needs and goals, such as purchasing new technology, improving sports facilities and fund a range of age specific resources.

We will again be selling Whittaker’s chocolate (NZ made, NZ owned and local) and Ecostore soap. Each student will be issued with either a box containing 36 bars of Whittaker’s SLABS (Peanut, Creamy Milk, Hokey Pokey, Toasted Coconut and Almond Gold) or a box containing 24 bars of Lemongrass soap. Students may sell both chocolate and soap if you want. Each of the bars of chocolate will sell for $2.50; as will the bars of soap. Therefore the total price of the box of chocolate is $90 and the box of soap is $60. The school makes a profit of $1.00 for each bar of chocolate and soap sold.

For each box sold the seller will have his/her name placed in a draw for the following prizes. Teachers will draw for any child who is absent for the draw. The 3 top individual and class prize winners will be announced at assembly after selling is finished.

All students not indicated as an opt out by the beginning of term 3, will receive a box of chocolate or soap on Tuesday 23 July .

Individual Prizes: There will be a number of prizes that may include a combination of the following: laptops,

Bluetooth Speakers, Beats earphones, Smart Trackers, Tablets, sports equipment and vouchers.

Return of money / unsold product to library 8am - 8:45am each morning

Each afternoon students will be given the opportunity to collect an additional box of chocolates/soap to sell and therefore enter the draw again. Money must be returned for at least one box of product before new boxes are given out.

We will need parent volunteers to help count money in the mornings. Please contact Clare Forrest at c.forrest@raroa.school.nz if you are able to help on any morning during weeks 2-4 of Term 3. (Wednesday 24 July - Friday 9 August).
