Our Super Star-bellied Sneetches!
Weka learners have had a super star 'can-do' attitude when making and completing their gorgeous Star-bellied Sneetch! They have shown perseverance and patience to create artwork that shows quality, creativity and skill. Something they are truely proud of!
Weka class has read the book "The Sneetches" by Dr Seuss. It is a book about diversity and teaches children to be fair and treat people equally no matter the differences. We have looked at why we are special and unique and that we are all stars no matter who we are!!
Weka children are 'shining like stars lighting up the sky!'
Have a look at all our fabulous Sneetches. We are so proud of ourselves for creating a quality piece of art with an outstanding message for all.
We created our sneetches by doing paper mache. This involved many layers of paper and glue (very messy) and letting it dry in between. We used a cup to create the base for it to sit and rolled up paper for the head, neck and legs. We then painted our creations and embellished with decorations to finish our Sneetch masterpieces!
