Back-a-book competition success

Te Kura o Kirikiri Tatangi – Seatoun School —

New Zealand Children’s Book Awards

All schools across Aotearoa were invited to take part in the Back-a-book competition for the New Zealand Children’s Book Awards. Schools would be given one of the finalist books and had to make a minute long video which would make children want to read it. We were selected to create a video for an awesome nature book “Why is that spider dancing?” and in quite a short timeframe, we created this video. Our small group did a superb job of giving their ideas and enthusiasm. Our film was chosen as one of the winners of the competition - for creativity and expressiveness. Our prize was a big feeling of pride and also a very nice selection of the finalist books for the library. We have since also been contacted by the publishers Te Papa Press who also loved the video and will be sending us a nice selection of their other publications. Have a look at our trailer:
