Steeple Rock - 25 August 2022

From The Principal - August 25

In this Principal’s piece: opportunities for parents to connect, welcome to new administration staff, BoT elections reminder.
Junior Developmental - two of the many groups we run every second Friday morning  by John Western

I am sure you have all enjoyed the recent sunshine as much as we have at school. Having the children outside at morning and lunchtime breaks makes a big difference for everybody!

You would've noticed recently that we've advertised a number of events for parents to connect. The first of these was held this morning for parents from years one and two in the Library, we had a massive turn-out! You will also see below information for Year 0, 1 and 2 families to meet at the Seatoun Bowling Club. See our dates section for other year group opportunities.

Tomorrow, we farewell Mrs Carolyn Newman after 8 years at our school. We are extremely grateful for all the wonderful contributions she has made to our school. We have decided on a job share position to replace Carolyn in the office and welcome parent Mel Lyon and one of our present Learning Assistants, Debra Duncan into this role. Debra is also working just a few hours each week, to assist with sports administration.

Thank you to everyone that has cast their vote for BoT elections. Voting closes at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 7th. We expect to be able to notify you of the results by Thursday, September 8th. The new Board takes office on Wednesday 14th September 2022.

Our COVID cases continue to be very low and we have decided to run this week's Friday Hui in our Hall. We are not yet able to open these events up to parents, but it is a significant milestone having our school together for an indoor Hui.

Out-of-zone ballot

Just a reminder to families that are out-of-zone, the ballot for new enrolments closes at midday, 2nd September 2022

You will see we have a feedback form in each week's newsletter.  Thank you to those that give feedback, it is valuable and appreciated.
