On Wednesday the 1st of June the Eastern Zones cross country competition was held at Scots College, and the weather wasn’t great. The year 6 girls (the race we were in), was supposed to start at 10:05, just as we were about to go outside the lodge, it started bucketing down till 11:10. Everyone had butterflies as we walked to the starting line, our faces already wet. The starting gun fired and everyone shot off like bullets. By the time we had finished our 2 and a half laps we were covered in mud and rain. Emily came 1st and Delia came second.

Lucas Kendrick, year 6 , said”Running in the mud was fun, and it was something different. I really enjoyed it, I came 3rd overall.

Sydney Brown, year 8, said “It was fun, I didn’t find it that muddy. It wasn’t raining when I ran my race .” She came 3rd overall.

Elyse Ngan, year 8, “It was fun, I came 9th overall. The start line was very muddy , even though it wasn’t raining it was still a little muddy at some parts of the course.”

Noah Kendrick, year 5, said “It was very muddy , and it was pouring down when I ran. I came 8th overall.”

Eastern Zones were lots of fun for everyone who participated, even if it was wet and muddy. We hope to be able to represent Seatoun for many years to come.
