Back-a-book challenge - New Zealand Book Awards

Sylvia and the birds, by Johanna Emeny
Enviro  by Te Kura o Kirikiri Tatangi Seatoun School

Recently we were invited to enter the Back-a-book challenge for the New Zealand Book Awards. This is open to all schools in New Zealand and schools choosing to enter are sent one of the finalist books to make a promotional video about. The aim of the film should be to inspire other young people to read the books. We were given Sylvia and the birds: how the Bird Lady saved birds and how you can too, a really cool book about New Zealand birds by Johanna Emeny. Mrs Carey along with Room 2 and I had just one minute to sell this book. The judges thought we did a pretty good job because they decided we were winners, and Seatoun were the only school to have won this two years running! We showed the film in hui in Week 3, but just in case you missed it, here it is: https://vimeo.com/838527337.
