Road Safety Around School

It is imperative that everyone follows the road rules and is considerate of each other. Before and after school are busy times, and the priority must be children's safety, not reducing the distance one has to walk to school. In particular, please remember:

  • Yellow lines are there for a reason, please do not park on them.
  • Do not park on the raised footpath areas. These are there for sight-lines and student safety
  • Be respectful of our neighbours and in particular, do not park within 1.5m of driveways or down Steeple Lane.

I have asked the WCC traffic enforcement team to regularly visit the neighbourhood to monitor road safety.

Speech and Poetry Finals

Congratulations to all participants for their entry to the respective competitions. Last Thursday evening, we were treated to a wonderful evening.

Congratulations, Emily Matthews, for winning the speech competition with her speech entitled Pay Equity in Sports and Liam Chen for his poem recital of 'Homework Stew' by Kenn Nesbitt.

We are also very grateful to our three judges. Thank you to Ami Tasker from Rongotai College, Julie Weir from Wellington East Girls College and Sarah Gerondis from Seatoun School.

Seussical Update

We are making tremendous progress. This production is a step up in challenge and difficulty from Lion King. It is giving tremendous opportunities for our learners. Thank you very much to families and companies that have donated towards this event's cost. We appreciate this.

Teacher Only Day on Monday, 13 November

There are significant changes to the New Zealand Curriculum and the Government has authorised a Term 4 ToD for teachers to learn more about this.  We had a very limited window in which the MoE granted a ToD and we have decided Monday 13 November would be best.  We will run our holiday programme on this day.
