Clothing Donations
Please see below a message from Isobel and Sophia in Year 6.
Kia ora e te whānau,
We are Isobel and Sophia. For our Unit of Inquiry for his term we are learning about sharing the planet. Our world is beautiful but broken.
We have been researching fast fashion and the effect it has on our planet. In an effort to stop fast fashion, we are gathering hand-me-down clothes from years 3-6 here at school, so it can be donated instead of it ending up in landfill.
We are gathering clothes because we want to be able to give to the less fortunate, all while helping the planet at the same time. We are getting support from a charity called Clothed in Love. Clothed in Love is a company where they support people in need who can’t afford clothes, right here in Christchurch.
Please bring either shirts, pants, skirts, shorts, jumpers, socks, dresses, or any type of accessory. There can be no shoes and no toys. The clothes also need to be in good condition, so no holes or rips.
We will leave a box in the lost property area, for any hand-me-downs so please drop these off to the box, which we will be emptying and organising each day.
Can you please bring all of the clothes by next Friday morning.
Thanks!
