Principal's Message

Our four core values—curious, courageous, resilient, and inspirational—may be newly articulated, but they have always been at the heart of our school’s ethos since its inception. Last week, I had the privilege of witnessing these values in action, by our Year 8 students, who conducted tours during our Open Day. These values were also shown within our alumni community, who gathered for their annual afternoon tea.

Our Year 8 students were truly inspirational as they welcomed guests and shared their personal stories of school life while guiding them around our beautiful campus. For some, this was a daunting experience, but they embraced the challenge with courage and did a fantastic job, demonstrating just how much they’ve grown as leaders.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the Alumni Afternoon Tea as I was visiting Hereworth in Hawkes Bay to prepare for our upcoming exchange program with the Year 7 students. However, I heard that the event was filled with vibrant conversations, bridging the years between school days and the present. I am constantly in awe of our past and present students, who approach challenges with optimism and an innovative mindset. Beyond career updates, the gathering was rich with personal stories of enduring friendships and supportive families.

The spirit of learning and sharing continued last week, as our Year 1 and 2 families visited the school to see what their daughters have been learning in Term 1. This experience allowed our youngest students to step into roles of leadership, showcasing their achievements with courage, resilience, and inspiration. Sharing their learning with those they love bolsters their confidence, preparing them for countless opportunities to step up throughout their school journey.
