Sponsorship Opportunity: Football Development

SUFC —

Selwyn United has an exciting opportunity for prospective partners in our Junior / Youth Development pathway.

As a licensed club, SUFC has a strong commitment to developing junior and youth players. We have established a vision for youth development in which...

...all junior and youth players will have the opportunity to develop in the game, irrespective of ability, and free from any barrier. Our vision is to inspire participation by providing a football environment that is of the highest-quality, fun and inclusive to all regardless of a player’s motivation or ability. There is no one individual more important than another. We are united as a club and as a community, with the purpose of providing opportunities for our community to enjoy, play, learn and excel through football

We also see development as something that goes well beyond simply playing the game.‘Good People First, Good Players Second’. We very firmly believe in developing the person as well as producing the player and having a process that is based around the individual needs of our players and the development of attributes in their game, that will see them develop and succeed in whatever pathway is right for them.

We have a range of current programmes designed to meet varied needs. Youth Development is not something reserved for 'elite' players. It is open to all and as a club we have a responsibility to work with any child that wants to explore the game of football more deeply.

We also need to ensure that volunteer coaches are supported to provide a positive development environment within players' team environment.

This requires high quality coaching and resourcing to match, in what is currently a user pays model.

We are currently re-visioning how we approach Football Development and would like to invite any prospective sponsors / partners to work with us on exploring an alternative funding model that provides a sustainable, and accessible way forward.
