MPL Season Report

Chris Brown - November 29, 2020

The Stallions had a goal to continue to progress made during the 2020 season. I wouldn't say progress as such was made however we did finish the season maintaining our MPL status for the 2021 season.

From the outside few positives other than securing MPL safety will be taken from the season; however, the club continued to follow our model in providing youth players with a pathway to the first team. Calum Murdoch, Oli Cosgrove and Ollie Sims were amongst the top 8 U20 players for minutes in the MPL, with Calum finishing with the most minutes for a U20 player.

It was a good year for integrating reserve players into the first team environment with Reece Mutonhori, Josiah Clark and Lear Otaki regularly making matchday squads.

There is no denying that on the whole we underperformed this year and am everyone involved is thankful to those who consistently turn up to watch us play. The process of reviewing and gaining feedback has taken place, and some clear goals have been set to help make sure 2021 is a far better year for the Stallions.

Looking forwards towards 2020, we want to continue to maintain our MPL status, and also look to get more Talent Centre graduates starting for the Stallions.
