2019 Winter Netball Season Comes to a Close

Andrew Smart —

Sherwood's winter netball season wraps up for another year.

Congratulations to all our netball teams for an awesome 2019 season. It's been an exciting and busy winter for our teams. Not only did they participate in weekly games but also played in various tournaments throughout the year. This year we had 6 teams representing Sherwood across Years 1 to 6. It's great to see so many students actively involved in netball and being physically active. Our Year 6's were so keen that they played in two netball leagues! Each team played in the Kidzplay competition held at Pinehurst School with the Year 6's also playing in the Netball North Harbour League.

It's been a roller coaster journey for teams with a mixed bag of wins, draws and losses. Players attitudes, teamwork and skills have continued to develop throughout the season which adds to the excitement that is team sports.

Players, you should all be very proud of your achievements and we hope to see you back to do it all again next year! Year 6's, we wish you the best of luck for your future netball endeavors after you leave Sherwood.

Congratulations to the Year 6 Sherwood Spaniels and Year 5 Terriers for placing 1st and 2nd in their grades at Kidzplay Netball. Well done also to the Year 1&2 Pugs, Year 3 Chihuahuas, Year 4 Beagles and Year 5&6 Labradors. A massive thank you to Irene Purdie and all the coaches and mangers that helped our teams each week. You are all heroes and our students are lucky to have you!
