Highlights from this year's Cross Country events

The 2024 Cross Country season kicked off with our senior classes on Monday 10th June. Classes from Nikau, Rimu and Rata walked down to Freyberg Park to complete the course that travels up and around Sherwood Park. Congratulations to every student that participated in the event. It was inspiring to see how much effort they put in!

It was then time for our Junior classes from Kauri, Matai and Pohutukawa to shine! The Junior Cross Country event took place on Thursday 20th June. This event was set up and ran by our crew of Year 6 PE Ambassadors who did an outstanding job. The course started on the Northcross fields and traveled around the perimeter and then up towards Sherwood with a sprinkling of obstacles. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the event. It was tremendous to see the enjoyment on the students faces as they put in an amazing effort. Well done students!

The 2024 Cross Country season wrapped up with the Northern Bays Cross Country event that took place on Tuesday 25th June. Top runners from 11 schools in the Northern Bays region were invited to Long Bay Regional Park to take on the ultimate challenge. A big congratulations to our 2024 squad who put in an outstanding effort. It is a very tough challenge and they demonstrated outstanding HEART values. We are all incredibly proud of you! Sherwood placed 5th overall, which is one of the best achievements we've got at this event. Thanks to the following students who performed brilliantly and secured the points for Sherwood:
