Talking with your kids

Jeff Johnstone —

Your child may be anxious or agitated about the choice you make

Once you have made your decision whether your child (or children) will stay at home for their learning or come back to school on Wednesday, we suggest it is important to talk about your decision with your child.

It will be important they know the reasons for your decision and that you have made it because you love them and you think it is the best decision for them and their well-being.

Advice we have been given includes the importance to normalise their feelings by empathising and validating what they say about how they are feeling. It's also important during these conversations, as a parent, that you demonstrate calm.

Attached is a video from Mr Johnstone. We suggest you check it out first and if you think it is helpful, show it to your kids.
