Dropping off and picking up your children

Jeff Johnstone —

We ask parents follow these guidelines...

Please refer to the staggered start times and end times so you know what time to drop off and pick up your child each day:

Year 3 (Pohutukawa) & Year 5/6 (Rata - Mrs Dunning, Mr Anderson, Ms Purdon)

  • School starts at 8:40am

  • School finishes at 2:40pm

Year 0/1 (Kauri) & Year 4 (Nikau)

  • School starts at 8:50am

  • School finishes at 2:50pm

Year 2 (Matai) & Year 5/6 (Rata - Ms Park, Mrs Eales, Mrs Robinson)

  • School starts at 9:00am

  • School finishes at 3:00pm

Dropping off your children:

  • Parents are asked not to congregate or come into the school grounds unless necessary, and certainly not to enter classrooms unless absolutely necessary e.g. the new starters.

  • If parents do come on site to drop off or pick up their children, they will be directed to an outside route to the classroom rather than through the foyer.

  • Kauri (Year 0/1) parents are encouraged to enter and depart the school grounds from the Montclair Rise walkway.

  • We encourage parents not to bring children early, although if you have more than one child you are dropping off then they are able to come to class before it starts.

  • On arrival at school all students go to their class.

  • There will be a manual bell and then start time announced over the speaker for each year group.

Leaving Procedures:

  • A pick up zone will operate from the left side (looking at the school) car park so Year 2-6 parents have an area to wait with enough room to physically distance from each other. We will keep cars out of this area. Students will wait on the grass area behind cones and come forward when they see their parent in the pick up zone.

  • Parents who park in the 2 minute zone can leave their car to wait in the pick up zone.

  • Kauri (Year 0/1) parents are encouraged to enter and depart the school grounds from the Montclair Rise walkway.

  • Students who don’t have to wait for a sibling, leave their class and either make their way home; or go to the pick up zone.

  • Students who have to wait for a sibling at another year level will wait in their class until that sibling’s finish time, then either make their way home or go to the pick up zone.

  • Students are not permitted to stay and play on the playgrounds after school.
