Information and guidelines

Welcome back to Sherwood Sport for 2022! Like everyone else, we are hoping to get stuck into more sport without disruptions. Please read below for information regarding sports running this term plus some guidelines for teams wanting to get a head start on trainings.

Splash Polo
Splash Polo is a water based sport and is a great way for kids to be active while building confidence in the water. It is played in a shallow pool and uses a range of ball skills, swimming and team work. Games are played on Sunday afternoons anytime between 2.00pm and 6.00pm at AUT Millennium. Trainings take place on Saturdays either between 4.00pm - 5.00pm or 5.00pm - 6.00pm.

There are 3 divisions available depending on your child's Year Level:

  • Year 2 & 3 (Play in 1m pool)
  • Year 3 & 4 (Play in 1.2m pool)
  • Year 5 & 6 (Play in 1.2 - 1.3m pool)

Guidelines for Sports Teams Training at School under Red:

  • Sport team trainings at school are able to continue but outside only. The gym will be unavailable in Term 1.
  • When attending trainings, please use an outside route to the court/turf (rather than through the foyer) and wear a mask.
  • Players do not need to wear a mask at trainings, however we do ask spectators to wear one.

Community sports and after school activities:

Harbour Hockey World Series Programme for Year 1 to 6 students

The Harbour Hockey World Series Programme started 2 years ago. It's a great development programme pitched to the age of the athlete. Each session includes a training and a competitive element while also representing a country. As part of the entry fee, participants receive a t-shirt for the country they represent. This will be received at one of the early sessions.

This year, the Programme has been expanded to include kids in Years 1 - 8. We look forward to seeing all our Primary and Intermediate players at Harbour Hockey on a Monday night. By having everyone engaged on the same night we provide the opportunities for our youngest friends and siblings to catch up while parents relax and in the Village Green (if Covid-19 regulations allow). This programme caters to all skill abilities. All participants must wear a mouth guard. Sticks are available for Y1 - 2 participants. Session times and dates are below: Monday 28 Feb, Monday 07, 14, 21 & 28 March, Monday 04 April
