Worm tea collection

Karla Anderson —

Worm tea is a natural plant fertilizer made from worm casting/waste. By diluting with water, it is helpful to other plants. As the worms digest the organic material, they produce castings filled with nutrients and beneficial microbes. Some of our students bottled their own worm tea to take home and share with their families. We will have more available soon as we are just in the process of setting up a second large Hungry Bin (Worm farm) near the two-storey block. Go and check it out!

The Sherwood Sustainability Stars lunch time group have learnt about what worms can eat and what they can not. To help others we have put up small posters above the hungry bin to show what the worms like. Please encourage your child and family to care for our worm farms.
