Auckland Regional Public Health Service - Measles Information

Carolyn Crow —

We have received the above information related to measles.

There is currently an outbreak of measles in Auckland with the virus now circulating in the community. At present we have no cases of measles connected to our school. In the event of a confirmed measles case connected to our school, Auckland Regional Public Health Service(ARPHS) would work with us to identify any staff or children who may have been exposed to someone with measles and take measures that prevent further spread.

Administration of Medication At School

We have a specific form which needs to be completed by parents/caregivers for all cases where children are required to take medication at school, whether this medication is for short term or long term use.  If your child needs to take medication at school, this has to be clearly labelled with your child's  name, the name of the medication and the time and amount that the medication is to be administered.  Any medication needs to be  brought to the school office where it is kept safely in a locked cabinet.  Please note that medication should not be kept with your child as this is a health and safety issue.

Thank you for your cooperation.
