Youth Peace Week

Junindi Hugo —

During term 3 a mufti day was held to celebrate Youth Peace Week (celebrating diversity).

Our Sherwood families donated gold coins that went towards helping our peer mediators purchase new equipment. Our trained peer mediators do a wonderful job of making our school a happier and safer place. They do this through providing opportunities for students to seek a peaceful mediation, of minor problems in the playground. After the overwhelming support and donations the peer mediators received on mufti day, we were able to purchase items to support them with their role. These items included personalised vests, special clipboards and personalised stickers (to give to students displaying positive behaviour in the playground). The peer mediators felt very grateful and excited to receive their new equipment. A big thank you to our Sherwood community for helping us purchase our new peer mediator gear!
