We had a very successful and exciting inquiry last term exploring visual art. If you walk around the classes you will see lots of the children’s work. They did an amazing job! This term, our inquiry is all about minibeasts—another exciting topic. We are looking forward to finding out what the children already know to watch them extend their learning. If you find anything interesting in your garden, please encourage your child to bring it in, in a container, to share with the class.
We don’t have any trips this term but we do have plenty going on. The four classes that started in Term 1 are going swimming towards the end of the term. We will need helpers for these sessions, so if you are available, please let your child’s class teacher know.
Coming into school, we have a visit from the NZ Playhouse who will be performing the play ‘Treasure Island’ and also the NED show (Never Give Up, Encourage Others, Do Your Best), which builds on our HEART values. Don't forget to join us for our Matariki celebration event too. You are welcome to join us for an early morning breakfast and to participate in an activity in your classroom following the event. See the school newsletter for further details on this event.
It’s looking to be a really fun term, again and we’re all looking forward to it. We’re also looking forward to meeting you all at our mid-year parent/teacher conferences. If you haven’t booked in for these yet, please check the school newsletter for details or your class teacher.
Regards
Kauri Teachers
