Our Twilight Gala on 20 March was cancelled but we were able to run an afternoon Mini Gala for our Sherwood students.
Our children were able to experience the fun of a gala with our gala games and prize table, sausage sizzle, ice blocks and drinks, and could purchase some fun fill-a-jars!
We made the sad decision to cancel our Twilight Gala in the lead up to lockdown and put on a special mini Gala for all our Sherwood Primary classrooms instead. Each year group was given a time slot to have a go at our gala games after a yummy sausage sizzle lunch with sausages donated by New World Browns Bay.
We had a chocolate table, badge making, our fill-a-jars, hook-a-duck, nerf gun target range, a big dig in the sandpit, fish pong, a lollipop tree, and tin can throw. Most children won a small lolly prize for competing, and the lucky ones won a silver or gold prize from our Prize Table manned by Mrs Catchpole!
The tin can throw major prize, drawn by raffle ticket, was a Bakugan set awarded to Cameron Cox from Rata E and a Bracelet Crafting station awarded to Annie Su from Pōhutukawa S. Congratulations!
Thank you to all our school families who made up a fantastic selection of jars, and donated items for the chocolate table and prizes. And a big Thanks to all our parent helpers that made our mini Gala run smoothly. While we were all disappointed we were not able to go ahead with our big event, I know our children had a lot of fun and we are prepared for next year!
