Our team of 26 students travel to Kristin School to compete in the 2022 Northern Bays Athletics Event.

On Tuesday 29th November, our athletics team, consisting of students from Years 4 to 6, headed to Kristin School along with the top athletes from 10 other schools from the Northern Bays Region. 

Once again the weather joined the party and created the perfect environment for some athletics. During the day, the team moved around Kristin's fields to different events in their age groups. There was a real sense of community throughout the day. Athletes from different schools were cheering and supporting each other to achieve their best. The 'high 5' quota was certainly met!

Congratulations to all the students who competed, you demonstrated outstanding athleticism and sportsmanship throughout the day. 

Our team absolutely smashed the day with the biggest 'medal' tally Sherwood has seen in the last 10 years! 

Congratulations to the following students for their achievements in athletics:

• Antonio Smale (9 and under boys) - 3rd in 100m Sprints and 2nd in High Jump
• Albie Caplain (9 and under boys) - 3rd in Discus 
• Oliver Simpson (10 Year boys) - 1st in Discus and 1st in Shot Put
• Emily Blanchard (10 Year girls) - 2nd in High Jump
• Macy Martin Dean - 2nd in Discus 
• Tyson Zhou - 3rd in High Jump
• Antonio Smale, Murray Bowles, Tilly Pito, Isla Harrison (9 and under) - 2nd in 400m Relay 
  

Sherwood placed 6th overall, the highest we have ever placed in this event.
