Make sure you know what to do when dropping your kids off or picking them up from school. It's important you keep your kids safe, as well as be considerate to other families. Here are the key points...
Firstly, consider parking and walking to school...
- Walk from home or park a few streets away from the school and then walk your child to and from school (please ensure you don't block driveways or access to properties)
- Check out the three entry points to our school and which would work best for you:
- Sartors Ave (front exit)
- King Richard Place walkway
- Montclair Rise walkway (especially Year 0 & 1 families)
- Please use the school crossing to cross Sartors Avenue - be a good example!
- Don't park on the yellow lines
If you have to use your car, use the drop-off and pick-up zone like a pro!
- Use the drop-off and pick-up zone like a quick moving taxi rank
- Only get out of your vehicle if you need to quickly help your children get in and out safely (on the footpath side of the car)
- Never walk away from your vehicle
- After school, teach your child to look out for your vehicle and to get in quickly when you pull up
- You are only allowed 2 minutes in the zone so if your children are not ready to get straight into your vehicle at pick-up time, you will need to drive around the block and queue to enter the area again!
- Don't do a U-turn into or out of the drop-off zone as this is a danger to students using the crossing
