Board update
Highlights from this week's Board meeting:
We now have 504 students at our school.
The teachers are well placed to implement the refreshed English and Mathematics Curriculum next year. This is our third year teaching structured literacy with the Better Start Literacy Approach. We are also part of the local Mathematics Capability Cluster.
Plans are underway to re-tarseal the uneven area from BASC right around to the senior playground. This will probably happen in January. Funds from the Ministry of Education will cover the cost of this project.
The Board reviewed the safety action plan and RAMs associated with the Year 6 Camp and gave their final approval for the camp to proceed.
The community and staff survey responses were viewed and discussed. Overall there was a positive response, with 50% of our parents ranking our school 5 out of 5. The Senior Leadership Team will review and draft the school's response to the improvements suggested. This will be discussed at the next Board meeting, before going back to the community and staff.
