Our national earthquake drill and tsunami hīkoi is taking place on Thursday 27 October 2022 at 9.30 am.
Our school is registered to take part in the Shakeout drill on that day.
Leading up to the day, there is also a Kid's Challenge that involves children learning and planning for a natural disaster with their families.
Children who complete the challenge bring their completed challenge form to school and we enter them to win prizes for them and the family and even something for our school.
If your family would like to do the challenges together:
- Collect a form from the marked box in the foyer.
- When completed (on or before the Shakeout Day on 27th October) they can hand it into the office and we will enter them.
- We will then return the form as it has practical information the family can use to be prepared for an emergency.
