Harbour Basketball Girls 4v4 Zone Day

Throughout this year, Harbour Basketball have been running a programme called Girls Got Game. The aim of the programme is to increase participation and help girls discover a love of the game.

They provided free lunchtime coaching sessions for girls from all year groups. Those that participated also received free basketballs! The next stage of the programme was to get them involved in a zone day to play girls from other schools.

The Harbour Basketball Girls 4v4 Zone Day took place on 19th September involving Year 5 & 6 students. We had 3 teams enter into the social grade where they got to play 5-6 games against other schools in the North Harbour region.

The players had a fantastic day of basketball and was great to see their skills develop each game. The players had so much fun that they will be competing in 3v3 zone day later this term!
