Adventure Club

Adventure Club began last Thursday afternoon with eight Year 5 & 6 students kayaking from Waiake Beach to Winstone's Cove using the school's recently purchased kayaks.

The aim of the initiative is to develop:

• personal and social skills.
• safe practice in the outdoors.
• knowledge and understanding of the need to protect and care for the environment.
• resilience, courage and perseverance.
  

Participation is open to all Year 5 & 6 students but completely voluntary. We group students according to experience and confidence. In case of rough sea conditions, we will explore the calmer waters of Deep Creek located at Waiake Beach.

The feedback from the students last Thursday was overwhelmingly positive. We look forward to taking a different group of students out each week. Any Year 5 or 6 students yet to join, can still be signed up by clicking here.
