Welcome back to school!

We hope you had a relaxing holiday and feel excited to come back to school. We are looking forward to welcoming Rimu students into our classes and having fun learning in 2023.

Rimu team is composed of three passionate teachers and a learning assistant; please take time to read our profiles below.

Children succeed best when there is a positive and supportive relationship established between the teacher, child, and home. We value any additional information you would like to share with us that might assist us in getting to know your child and encourage you to contact your child’s class teacher via Seesaw

Seon Jin Park - Rimu P, Team Leader

This year I am excited to be teaching Year 5. This is my fourth year of teaching at Sherwood Primary school which is close to home. I originally came from South Korea and went through schooling on the North Shore. I studied for a year in Chicago as a university student and worked at the UAE international school as a teacher. I like to immerse myself in different cultures when I travel. I am also passionate about music, technology, chess, and art.

This is my third year at Sherwood, and I am excited to be teaching Year 5 for the second year.

As a recently fully registered teacher, I look forward to continuing to learn and grow as a teacher.

I was born in England however, I travelled extensively throughout my childhood living in Malaysia, South Africa, and China.

I enjoy playing a variety of sports but have a strong passion for football and enjoy photography.

I look forward to continuing my journey as part of the Sherwood School community.

This is my fourth year in New Zealand. I completed the Teacher Refresher Course and have since been actively involved in teaching at Sherwood Primary School. I am from South Africa where I grew up and obtained my teacher’s qualifications and where I taught for 12 years. I am looking forward to teaching the Year 5’s this year and will be leading the Science Club. I love the Sherwood Values and how they are taught and led by example. It is a privilege to be part of this team.
