Some ideas for work:

If you know of any employment possibilities for boys other than your son you can contact the student office at skm@shirley.school.nz . If you cannot find work, then please make contact with the student office and jobs may be allocated.

Workdays began in 1978, broken only by the events of 2011. Projects have been too numerous to list with funds directed to all walks of school life. Many of the “extra” luxuries that our current students now enjoy have been brought into being through the endeavours of students now long since departed our school. It is part of what is unique about Shirley Boys and links strongly to our school values.

Workday provides a good opportunity to develop work habits, show pride in yourself and the school by displaying positive attitudes like effort, organisational skills, commitment and manners. We look forward to your support.

Students who are unable to obtain work must attend school on the workday where they will be involved in supervised study in the Library from 8:30am until 2:00pm.

The support of parents in our endeavours is a vital ingredient. Please encourage your son to reach or exceed the target and to play his part as a student of SBHS.
