RYDA Programme

SBHS —

On the 10th May all Year 12 students attended the RYDA programme which is run by Road Safety Education Limited. This required the students to be transported over to Riccarton Racecourse for the day. For many students, this was their first opportunity for a field trip for a number of years due to Covid. Most of the attendees were in the early stages of gaining their licence and therefore the content covered was relevant. Students rotated through workshops to identify crash factors and personal risk. The aim was to develop strategies and skills for both passengers and drivers to become socially responsible members when they get into a motor vehicle. Our hope is that the students carry the lessons learnt to help keep them safe on our roads throughout their lives.
