Two of our students, Charlie Wise and Lincoln Penei,

Two of our students, Charlie Wise and Lincoln Penei, were away in October representing Canterbury in the National Scholastic Surf Champs held in New Plymouth.

Charlie was the under 18 longboard rep and Lincoln was the travelling reserve. The event was run over 5 days and Charlie had to surf through 4 events to make the finals. Charlie went through his heats during the week to get into the final and came 3rd. Unfortunately Lincoln didn't get a chance to surf, but his support was fantastic. The Canterbury team ended up 2nd on the overall points table. 

Both boys were outstanding with their team responsibilities and Shirley Boys' High School are very proud of them.
