The New Zealand schools Japanese trivia championship was held on the 17th of June in Term 2. Five enthusiastic Year 9 Japanese students from Shirley entered the competition. There were competitions going at eight cities in New Zealand on the same day at the same time and there were 19 teams from Canterbury competed in this event. Unfortunately we did not come top three in our region but the students enjoyed dressing up as a Samurai, eating Japanese snacks and they learned new Japanese culture. Well done to all the boys who participated. It was a fun night.
