Uniform

Rob Wilson-Pyne —

In 2016 Shirley Boys High School began the transition into our new school uniform.

This initially involved a mix of the old uniform with the new, to allow families to gradually introduce the new uniform features.

It has been very pleasing to see the boys wearing this uniform well. It is important feature in developing personal pride in appearance as well as a sense of belonging to the school. We appreciate the support that parents have provided in regards to uniform.

Through the winter months, it became apparent that some students were still wearing the old Shirley Boys' High School trousers. These are dark grey or black in appearance. Unfortunately these trousers are not part of the required uniform of Shirley Boys' High School.

The decision was made to allow these trousers to be permitted until the end of 2019, to allow families to make arrangements to purchase the regulation Shirley Boys' High School trouser for the 2020 school year.

The regulation Shirley Boys' High School trouser is dark navy in appearance and has the school logo sown into the back pocket. These are purchased from the Uniform Shop located at 403 Worcester Street in Linwood. The following is a link to their website for more details:

A reminder that all students wearing trousers or a blazer as part of the school uniform are also required to wear a tie. This can also be purchased from the Uniform Shop.

From 2020, students wearing non regulation trousers will be required to change them. This include them being sent home to correct their uniform. This would be a great shame and is avoidable.

Thank you again for your help and support with the Shirley Boys' High School Uniform. It is very much appreciated.
