Give Sailing a try at PPYC sailing club - If you every wanted to give sailing a go PPYC sailing club are offing a structured training program that follows the format developed by Yachting New Zealand and covers basic sailing skills such as water safety, rigging a boat, sailing theory, launching and retrieving, practical sailing and boat handling techniques, capsizing, basic sailing rules, knot tying and more.

At the end of the course you will come away with the NZYF level 1 certificate of sailing competence. There is ongoing support for further development at the sailing club if you are keen to carry on. The course starts 24 September and runs over 6 sessions, generally 1 day per weekend until 17 December. The course fee $120 for students and $220 for 19yrs+, this covers use of Club LTS boats and life jackets plus Club membership for the season.
