The school softball team took part in the National Division 1 Secondary Schools Softball Tournament. The tournament was badly affected by rain. We did, however, have a successful time of it. We were unbeaten in pool play but after a tough week, couldn’t win our semi-final, finishing third. The team played with spirit all week. The mix of youth and experience (under the captaincy of Leroy Cherry and Hapene Kumeroa) means that there is depth in the team as we look to future years.

One of our Year 13 students, Hapene Kumeroa, has since been named in the New Zealand Junior Black Sox team to complete at the U18 World Cup in Mexico.
