If you have an old phone that you no longer want please bring it along to reception and pop it into the box there. The phones then get recycled and reused. This is a great way for Sustainable Coastlines to raise some funds for more trees and cleaner water!

Is your son missing out?

In New Zealand all teens from Year nine or 13 years old, until their 18th birthday are eligible to receive free basic dental treatments at private dental practices in their local community.

It is the responsibility of the child’s parent or legal guardian to ensure that the child is enrolled at a dental clinic and is booked in for a yearly checkup. Not all private dental practices have dentists that provide this free service but most do. Both Lumino North Avon and Lumino Shirley offer free teen dentistry and are very close to the school grounds.

At our practices we believe many high school students are missing out on their free annual checkups. Teens that we do see for yearly exams benefit greatly from this service by receiving preventative treatments, oral health education and routine dental treatments that set them up with good oral health for life (at no cost!) .

All too often we see patients in their early 20’s who missed out on free dental care as a teen now needing multiple fillings, root canal treatments and extractions that may cost a sizeable sum of money at a time in their lives where they may be studying or saving for travel or their first home.

We encourage all parents to enroll their teenager for free dental care and to attend a yearly examination. For information on enrollment and to make an appointment for your son:
