Tourism:   12Tou   Full Year

Course Description: This course offers a range of themes and skills relevant to gaining the Level 2 National Certificate in Tourism (Introductory Skills). Themes include the knowledge of work roles in tourism and the demands of specific roles. Knowledge of national and international tourist destinations will also be gained. Skills developed will be the use of internet research, time-management, literacy and numeracy.

This course is internally assessed throughout the year. The five Unit Standards offered are set by Service IQ - the Industry Training Organisation (ITO).

Recommended Entry Criteria: Nil

UE Literacy: No

Qualifications to be gained: 17 Unit Standards credits towards Level 2 NCEA as well as the National Certificate of Tourism and Travel.

Themes include gaining knowledge of specific tourist destinations, both national and international, and developing industry related skills and understanding. Competencies developed will be the use of the internet research, and time-management.

This course is internally assessed throughout the year. The four Unit Standards offered are set by Service IQ - the Industry Training Organistion (ITO).

Qualifications to be gained: 21 Unit standards towards Level 3 NCEA as well as the National Certificate of Tourism and Travel.
