Munchang High School Visit

20 students from Munchang High School, South Korea, took part in a short stay Language course from 13 to 25 February.  Apart from English lessons they joined SBHS classes for Mathematics, French, Science, English and Social Studies as well as being taught the school Haka by the Yr 10 Te Reo class and baking chocolate chip biscuits. They were welcomed to the school with a Powhiri by the senior Te Reo class with Manahi Wawatai being the lead speaker.

During the week they visited many sites around Christchurch as well as Hanmer Springs (which was a highlight). They also visited Willowbank and did some boating on the Avon river.  Another highlight was a barbecue at Mr Laurensons.

A special thank you to host families – this gives the student an opportunity to experience the real NZ.

Students from Thailand

Three students will be joining SBHS classes from 15 March to 19 April. They are part of a group being hosted by Chisnallwood Intermediate.
