Canterbury Ice Hockey League High School’s tournament final on held at Alpine Ice Arena on Saturday 25th September. It was a nail biter game to the finish, with SBHS taking the win over CBHS/STAC 6-4. Prizegiving trophies were awarded in the car park due to Covid restrictions, but the gold medals shine just as bright! Luke Tappin was awarded three trophies for tournament MVP, Top Goal Scorer (68 points) Fin Muir was 2nd with 38 points), and Most Assists (17). Team trophies included Fin Muir (Yr 13) MPV of the season, Josh Murray (yr 11) won Most Improved Player, Aoife Orr (Yr 9) for Sportsmanship. Joseph Collins (Yr 13) took out our Captain’s Award for making such an impact in his rookie year, and commitment to the sport. It was a special win for the team because Luke’s two brothers have also captained the SBHS team to tournament wins in Yr 13.
