The following subjects are available for students to study in 2020

Music Technology:   12 Mut   Full Year

Course Description: This course will develop skills in the theoretical and practical use of Technical equipment in the Performing Arts field: PA systems, Digital recording systems, and Lighting for recording Musical Performance and Arrangements with a particular emphasis on modern music, as well as the Music industry. The ability to do a L2 Composition Achievement Standard is also available.

Recommended Entry Criteria: It is an advantage to also be studying one of 11/12/13Mus (if students meet entry criteria to Mus)

Qualifications to be gained: Level 2 Unit Standards credits, and potentially a L2

UE Literacy: No

Approximate Contributions: $50 toward studio equipment, maintenance and repairs.

Restrictions: Ideally studentswill have a musical instrument and be receiving tuition, however this is not essential for entry to the course.

Course Description: This course will develop skills in the theoretical and practical use of Technical equipment in the Performing Arts field: PA systems, Digital recording systems for recording Music Performances and personal DAW’s, Arrangements and Compositions, with a particular emphasis on modern music, as well as the Music industry. A Songwriting Achievement Standard is also available to students who wish to incorporate it into their recording processes when creating their own computer based music.

Recommended Entry Criteria: Preferably students would have completed 12Mut before 13Mut is attempted. It is also an advantage to be studying one of 11/12/13 Mus and play an instrument.

Qualifications to be gained: Level 2 and 3 Unit/Achievement Standards credits.
