During Block week this term, 13 Outdoor Education cycled part of the Little River Cycle Trail in preparation for the upcoming three day cycle tour. 

The boys were challenged by swarms of lake flies but found creative ways to battle them. 

The cycle was 46 km and a few discovered that cycle shorts and/or comfy saddles could be the way forward. 

It was an opportunity to test fitness, stamina on the saddle and cycling with pannier bags. The class have chosen their destination for the three day tour and are planning and preparing every detail from accommodation, route, meals and equipment. 

We venture to Nelson later this term to complete the cycle tour.
