Adopt the Avon / Otakaro-Mother of All Cleans Ups - Saturday 7th May 2016

35 organisations were involved in the clean up of the Avon / Otakaro, Heathcote/ Ōpāwaho catchment and the estuary/Ihutai. Citywide partners , CityCare Ltd, CCC, ECan, Student Volunteer Army and DOC were also involved. This massive effort removed as much litter as possible from the riversides of our urban catchments and estuary edge.

There were 21 awesome organisations involved in the Ōtākaro effort between Barbadoes St and Bridge St including groups from iwi, environmental, high school, nature play, flat water sports, corporate, community, community board and regional council organisations.

Students of Shirley Boys High School, 2016 Logan Evans, Harrison McEvoy, Nathaniel Bolton , Jackson Taylor, Marshall Hannah , Taine Jacobs-Lawson , Mitchel Barry , Brendon Seinafo , Jimmy Tuipuloto , , Logan Bell , Devin Pullyblank , Evan Young , Geordie Naylor , Sean Takai , James Alexander , Jake Luthi , Samson Seinafo , Hamish McLauchlan , Josh Archer , Zac Adams , Virki Young , Taylor Keys , Ethan Saywell , Chris Pearce , Boris Van Bruchem , volunteered and participated in this valuable community support activity cleaning up the litter between the Avondale Bridge and Wainoni Bridge.
