Food Bank Week
During the second to last week of term 2, Shirley Boys’ High School along with Avonside Girls’ High School and St Margaret’s College took part in a food bank week as part of a One School Network initiative.
The One School
Network is a group made up of students from other high schools across
Christchurch, with the aim this year being to “lead through service,” whether
that be helping out our community outside, or within, our school and working
together as a group of students not restricted by what school we come from.
For this food bank week, we collected items of non-perishable food in coordination with the other participating schools to donate to the City Mission and play a small part in helping out our community.
It was great to see the students from all the high schools working together to achieve a common aim and do something good for our community.
