In Year 9, all students are required to study five core subjects and will have the opportunity to explore a variety of option subjects.

These option subjects are taught three times a week, and students take two option subjects at a time. Most subjects run for one term, so students will experience up to eight different option subjects during the year. Language subjects run for two terms.

Important Notes:

• To study a language at Year 10 and above a student must study that language in Year 9 (occasionally an exception is made, if you think this may apply then please discuss this with us now).

• To study Music at Year 10 and above, a student must study at least 9Mus Music Introduction in Year 9.

• Other than Languages and Music, all other option subjects can be picked up at Year 10 even though they were not studied in Year 9.
