Sports Update

Jason Sikma —

Results and sports starting up

The SBHS sporting year is already up and underway with our Summer sports Cricket, Volleyball, Touch and Futsal already taking place. The results so far have been really pleasing and it is great to see so many new faces out there representing the school so brilliantly. Wednesday Sport was due to start last Wednesday, before the weather worsened, we are looking forward to that kicking off this week, so more of our sports teams can get their years underway. Look out on our Instagram for Draws, Results and Highlights throughout the year, we are always keen to showcase our sporting excellence here at Shirley Boys’ so send through anything we can promote! @SBHSSPARTANSPORT

Notice Sign Ups

All sports teams’ registrations, meetings and trainings will be posted in the School Notices prior to the events taking place. It is very important to be checking the notices daily, so boys don’t miss out on any exciting sporting opportunities.

The Junior Sports Program is underway for the year. This program is designed around having a go and involvement for our Year 9 students. Each Thursday Lunchtime students will meet outside the Spartan Sport Office and get introduced to a new sport or activity. It is compulsory to partake in two terms worth of sport as a Year 9, so this is a fun and inclusive way to get involved. Attendance to these weekly sessions is required to pass JSP.

Kindo is our online site used for all Spartan Sport Kit purchases. Kindo has now closed for Term 1. Hopefully everyone had the chance to get online and view everything we have to offer, as there is an ever-increasing list of options for students to pick from. Those of you who purchased any kit will have it delivered to your son at school in a few weeks’ time. Any questions in regard to this process don’t hesitate to reach out.

All sports payments are managed by our payments team. The payments office is besides the front desk, at the front of the school. We have many exciting and different sports here thar all have a range of costs (Subs, Exchanges, Tournaments), you will be notified throughout the year if there are sporting payments coming up that will need to be paid. The payments office is where parents or students can come to sort these.
