Hockey Last game of 2021

Adrienne Stackhouse —

2021 has been one of the most successful years for Shirley hockey in a few years. There was a delayed finish to the hockey season for all Shirley teams that played in the Friday night Secondary Schoolboys hockey competition due to NZ going to a Level 4 lockdown on Tuesday 17 August. AL4 also meant that the 1stXI hockey team was unable to attend Johnson Cup tournament due to all tournaments that were traditionally played during winter tournament week, being cancelled.

A big thanks to Canterbury Hockey for making the finals weekend of happen in Alert Leve 2. Shirley had three teams playing their final game of the 2021 season on Friday 17 September.

The Blue team has had a great season showing significant improvement each week and played in a final against Cashmere 2ndXI. The final score was 2-4 which meant they finished 2nd in their competition. Well done on your successful season.
