This year Shirley Boys High School hosted Timaru Boys High School Colts for pre-season games on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st March. 

Four players (Shahid Ali, Danie Beukes, Thomas Bishop and Alex Brandrick) played their debut game against Timaru Boys High School, at 12.00pm that afternoon. 

These pre-season games are invaluable for both schools, as it allows us to incorporate new players into the team environment, allowing players to realise the high standard of hockey required when playing against 1st XI teams.

Both games were played in glorious autumn conditions and saw Shirley winning both games. 

The result on Saturday was a 4-3 win to Shirley. 

Sunday saw Shirley fielding a much stronger team,  as some boys had been unable to play on Saturday due to summer sporting commitments. 

The result on Sunday was a 9-3 win for Shirley.
