CANOE POLO

SBHS —

SBHS teams success

Our top team stepped up to the A grade in the Canterbury schools competition this year finishing fourth after some very close games throughout the term against older and more experienced opposition.

They were noted at the final prize giving as the ones to look out for in the future.

Our new players, mostly year 9 students playing for the first time, improved with every game and won the final play off to take third place in the C grade.

Canoe Polo. (L-R) Angus Anderson, Ryley Dijkstra, Luca Hawtin, Matteo Bec, Lukas Ross.

The season was topped off with a barbecue where a great time was had by all.

The boys are now looking forward to contesting both the senior and junior grades at the South Island Secondary School Championships to be held in Oamaru during August.
