Safety improvements on Queen Elizabeth Drive

Tim Grocott —

On Thursday 16th May, Associate Minister Julie Anne Genter visited the SH74 Marshland to Burwood project on Queen Elizabeth Drive to get a first-hand look at new safety improvements.

These include roadside safety barriers, a median barrier and high performance road markings to help prevent crashes.  Shirley Boys’ High School was invited to meet with the Minister and students were able to discuss how the safety improvements made their bike ride  to school each day much safer.

Pictured with Julie Anne Genter  are Jack Hearn, Year 12; Tom Hearn Year 9; and Tane Norton, Year 11, who all use the cycle lane each day while travelling to and from Shirley Boys’ High School. — Image by: SBHS
